QUICK HITS
• St. Lawrence finished the regular season as the No. 12 seed with seven conference points, and is coming off a pair of one-goal losses at home last weekend.
• Dartmouth enters the weekend as the No. 5 seed after finishing tied for fifth in the final regular season standings with Colgate with 23 points. The Big Green won the tiebreak with the Raiders.
• The Saints and Big Green have faced off just four times in the ECAC Hockey postseason prior to this weekend's series and have split those games 2-2-0.
• This will be the first first-round series for St. Lawrence since the 2013-14 season, as the Saints had earned a first-round bye in each of the last three with top-four finishes during the regular season.
• This is also the first time the Saints have traveled for a first-round series since 2010-11 when they traveled to Princeton. They beat the Tigers 2-1 in that series behind a pair of one-goal wins in games two and three.
• The Saints struggled offensively throughout the regular season, but started to come alive in the second half scoring three or more goals in eight games since January.
• Despite their losing record, the Saints were in a majority of the games they played in the second half of the year, suffering seven of their nine total one-goal losses this season since January.

LAST WEEKEND RECAP
Michael Laidley and Ryan Garvey each had a pair of goals, one in each game, to lead the Saints. Ryan Lough added the other goal on the weekend.
Jake Stevens finished with three assists to bring his season total to 13 thus far. He leads ECAC Hockey rookie defensemen in assists heading into the playoffs.
• The Saints carried a 2-1 lead into the third period of Friday's game against Quinnipiac with goals from Michael Laidley and Ryan Garvey, but allowed two Bobcat goals in the final 10 minutes of play in the 3-2 loss.
• St. Lawrence scored three straight to erase an early 2-0 deficit to Princeton, but again gave up a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes, including a power play goal with 1:28 to play, in the loss.

SECOND HALF NOTES (Since Dec. 29)
• St. Lawrence is 6-11-1 since coming back from Christmas break, including a pair of wins to lead the Saints to the Catamount Cup in Vermont.
• Two of their three conference wins in the second half came with a weekend sweep of Brown and Yale on Jan. 26-27.
• The Saints have outscored opponents 18-8 in the second period.
• In his 14 games played since the break, goaltender Arthur Brey has posted a .920 save percentage and 2.98 goals against average with 460 total saves.
Mike Marnell and Carson Gicewicz lead the Saints with 15 points apiece in the second half. Jake Stevens, Nolan Gluchowski and Ryan Lough all hit double digits in scoring through the last 18 games.

ABOUT DARTMOUTH

• They're coming off a weekend split at Yale and Brown last weekend, beating Yale 6-4 before finishing the regular season with a 3-0 shutout loss at Brown.
• Quin Foreman earned Rookie of the Week honors from ECAC Hockey this week after leading freshmen in goals (3) and points (4) over the weekend.
• Will Graber leads Dartmouth in scoring with 22 points on 8 goals and 14 assists, while Shane Sellar is second in scoring with 10 goals and 10 assists for 20 points.
• Goaltender Devin Buffalo enters the playoffs with a .907 save percentage and 2.83 goals against average for the Big Green. He's 12-8-1 overall on the year and has 10-6-0 against ECAC Hockey teams.

THIS SEASON AGAINST THE BIG GREEN
• Dartmouth swept the Saints in the regular season series with a 3-2 win at Appleton Arena and a 3-1 win in Hanover on Senior Night for the Big Green.
• Alex Jasiek's power play goal in the third period proved to be the difference in the team's win against the Saints on the road, while three third period goals, including two by Colin Rutherford, helped Dartmouth to the 3-1 win at home.
• Rutherford and Quin Foreman (EN) scored two goals in the final minute of play en route to the win.
Nolan Gluchowski, Carson Gicewicz and Jacob Nielsen have the St. Lawrence goals against the Big Green so far this season.

THE SAINTS AS THE NO. 12 SEED
• This is the first time the Saints are playing as the No. 12 seed in the ECAC Hockey playoffs, though they have finished in the bottom four of the standings eight times in program history.
• Half of those eight playoff runs ended in the quarterfinals (2011, 2004, 2002, 1998), while the others saw the Saints fall in the first or preliminary round (2008, 2003, 1997, 1994).

AGAINST THE IVY LEAGUE
• The Saints finished the regular season 2-10 against Ivy League teams this season, with their two wins coming against Brown and Yale when the Saints swept their first weekend of the season on Jan. 26-27.

• With an assist last weekend, Mike Marnell became the first player this season to hit the 20-point mark. Both Jacob Pritchard and Nolan Gluchowski have 19 points to date.

OVERTIME WOES
• The Saints finished the regular season 0-4-2 in overtime games, including three conference overtime losses in 2018.
• St. Lawrence finished 0-0-7 in overtime last season.
• The Saints have not won an overtime game since beating Clarkson in Game 2 of the ECAC Hockey quarterfinal playoff round at home on March 12, 2016.
