The St. Lawrence University women's track and field team saw some league qualifying performances in their last meet before the Liberty League Championship on February 24
th and 25
th.
In the first race of the afternoon
Adeline Moore raced the 5,000 meters, aiming for the sub-20 minutes to hit the league qualifier. After running 24 laps averaging just over 48 seconds per lap, she finished with a 41.84-second final lap and crossed the line in 19:57.25.
Maia Wahlquist shot to the top of the league rankings in the high jump when she cleared 1.62 meters for the first time this season. That mark is the fifth best in the region. The sophomore also took third in the long jump, with a best jump of 4.76 meters.
Kristina Koes won the long jump with a season best jump of 4.98 meters and reached the league qualifying standard.
Laken Mooney also jumped a season best, 4.77 meters, as she took second to secure the St. Lawrence top-three sweep.
Hayley Castagnier ran a personal best time of 8.07 seconds in the prelim for the 60 meters, which is the sixth best time in the conference this season.
Cora Knight finished second in finals, and her 8.43 seconds in prelims is a season best and league qualifier.
The Saints won the meet with 159 points, topping Utica, Plattsburgh, Potsdam, and Mohawk Valley. They next compete on February 24
th for the two-day Liberty League Championship meet in Rochester, N.Y.
