The St. Lawrence University women's track team won the DMR and had a number of top-three finishes on Saturday afternoon in Newell Field House as they hosted the six team Holiday Relays.
Cameran Stone took the opening 1,200-meter leg of the relay and handed the baton to
Amy Francesconi for the 400-meter leg. She then passed to
Alexis Parent who ran 800 meters, and finally
Bridget Hastings closed with 1,600 meters. The team won in 14:04.56, 46 seconds better than second place.
Stone and Parent each also had second place finishes. Stone in the 1,000 meters, finishing in 3:30.44, and Parent in the mile. Parent finished in 5:29.08, just ahead of
Olivia Bernier who took third.
The Saints had another two-three finish in the longest race of the day.
Kinsley Holl finished the 3,000 meters in 12:07.58, and
Adeline Moore was just behind her in third in 12:23.55.
Alexa Smith took second in the seldom run 500 meters. She finished the two and a half laps in 1:26.8.
Kiran Black won her heat in the 60-meter hurdles to qualify for the finals, and took second in finals, finishing in 10.51 seconds.
The meet ended with a jump off at the high jump. Ultimately, first-year
Kaylee Bertini finished second place, but was one of three to clear the 1.50-meter bar.
The Saints next meet is after the winter recess. They travel to Utica University on January 14
th.
