Mohamed El Gawarhy was named the Liberty League men's squash Performer of the Week following his run to the national championship match at the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual nationals over the weekend.

El Gawarhy upset both the No. 1 seed - and Liberty League rival Ashley Davies – and No. 4 seed Andrew Douglas of Penn en route to the championship match. He beat Davies 3-1 and Douglas 3-0 in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

He also posted an opening-round win over Harvard's Marwan Tarek in four games (11-9, 9-11, 11-5, 11-9).

In the final against Harvard's Victor Crouin, the intensity of his previous three matches played a factor for El Gawarhy, as he fell 0-3 to finish as the national runner up.
