A two-time NCAA qualifier in alpine skiing and an All-East
selection and one of the leading scorers in lacrosse in each of her four seasons
of varsity play, Suzanne Sargent Jones helped the ski team to its best NCAA
finish in a combined championship and the lacrosse team to its first NCAA
tournament appearance.
A three-year captain and two-time MVP in alpine competition,
Suzanne qualified for the NCAA championships in the slalom as a freshman,
placing 23rd and helped the team to a 10th place finish
in the men's and women's combined team scoring. She also qualified for NCAA ski
competition as a junior. In lacrosse, she helped the team to its first NCAA
quarterfinal appearance in 1984 and was among the scoring leaders on the team
in each of her four years of varsity competition. She finished her career with 93
goals and 39 assists and had three seasons of over 20 goals scored. She was
named to the All East team in 1987. She had an 18-game scoring streak stretching from her junior season into her senior year.
A Physician Assistant with advanced degrees from the
University of Vermont and Yale, Suzanne and her husband Cort are the parents of
two children.
