Phyllis Stranburg was active in all of the sports offerings for women during her undergraduate career at St. Lawrence and served as president of the Women's Athletic Association as a senior.
She played basketball, volleyball, field hockey and tennis and was selected for Kalon and Who's WHo in American Colleges and Universities. Active in the WAA throughout her St. Lawrence career, a group which was the organizing body for women's athletics on campus, she was also vice president of the women;s student government and held membership in the SLU Club, Outing Club, Spanish Club and wrote for the Hill News. She was also a member of Pi Beta Phi.
She served as Director of the Foundation for the Olean General Hospital and was an Auxiliary Board member for the hospital.
Three of her children and a granddaughter are St. Lawrence graduates.
