St. Lawrence’s first tennis national champion with doubles partner Mary Harris, Nicole Andreson, joined Harris as the Saints’ first women’s tennis All America and had an outstanding career in both singles and doubles.
Nicole was New York State Singles Champion in both 1992 and 1993 and joined Harris as the state doubles champion in both seasons as well. She went 21-3 at second singles in 1993 with her only loss in the Rolex tournament and all 21 wins were in straight sets. She won conference singles and doubles titles in 1992, 1993 and 1994 and helped the 1992 and 1993 teams to both New York State and league titles and the 1994 team to a league title. Undefeated in doubles in 1992 in regular season competition, she joined Harris to go 23-2 overall in doubles, winning the Division III Rolex National Doubles title in three straight matches. One of the two losses the duo sustained on the season came in the “Super Bowl of Women’s Tennis” following their Division III win and was to the Division II champions
She compiled a career record of 115-25 and was also an outstanding student, becoming the first woman to earn Academic All America honors in Saint history. Captain and MVP of the tennis team, she was a Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude graduate. She also received the ECAC Robbins Scholar Athlete Award and was a member of ODK and Psi Chi. A member of the Judicial Conduct Board, she was also president of Kappa Delta Sigma.
An attorney, Nicole served as Vermont Assistant Attorney General from 2000-03 and is Deputy States Attorney at the time of induction.
