One of the greatest swimmers in St. Lawrence history, Nick Nichols won five NCAA individual titles and was on an NCAA championship relay team in his three seasons of competition.
Nick, who now coaches the sport he dominated as a collegian, set NCAA records in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 200 individual medley in sweeping to three titles in 1980 and helped the Saints to third place team finishes in both 1980 and 1982.
The winner of the Douglas McDevitt Award as the outstanding swimmer in New York State as a senior, he dominated ICAC and state meet competition and established SLU records in three individual events and was part of four record relay teams.
He earned All America honors in each of his three NCAA meets in addition to relay All America.
