One of the founding members of the St. Lawrence softball team, Michelle Circelli Hartmann remains one of the best players in program history.
Michelle was an NFCA Division III First-Team Northeast Regional All-America selection as a senior and a four-time All-UCAA catcher, earning First-Team honors in both her junior and senior years. She helped the team win the UCAA Championship as a rookie and the New York State championship as a senior. She was a three-year captain and an Academic All-Conference selection.
Michelle held 10 softball season and career records when she graduated, and at the time of her induction, still holds records for runs in a game (4), RBI in a season (30), and doubles in a season (12).
In addition to playing softball, Michelle also played field hockey for two years.
After graduation, Michelle spent a year as a graduate assistant in the sports information department at St. Lawrence while also serving as a volunteer assistant softball coach. She is a high school English teacher and former softball and field hockey coach and lives in New Hartford, N.Y., with her husband, Michael, and her sons, Michael and Benjamin.
