St. Lawrence’s first All America soccer player, Matt Dennett gained that distinction when the selection of a single All America team included players from both large and small colleges.

Considered one of SLU’s greatest players ever, the native of Scotland established SLU records for assists in a game and a season. He was the all-time Saint scoring leader at the time of his graduation and teams went 30-3-2 during his three varsity seasons. He was named MVP of the Atlantic Regional Tournament, a tourney in which the Saints finished third.

He played professionally following graduation and also coached several college teams.
