Midge Longley earned the title of outstanding athlete in her senior class as she was president of the SLU Club which was determined by points accumulated through participation in sports. She was the winner of the Tennis Cup as a senior and participated in modern dance, tennis, cheerleading and intramural volleyball, basketball and softball. A Phi Beta Kappa member, she was also captain of the varsity cheerleading squad.

She is president of Gramercy International, her own public relations marketing and consulting firm. Formerly, she worked for many years for The New York Times during which she was circulation sales director and corporate director of Public Affairs and was the director of public affairs for NYCOTB for three years. Numerous civic, arts, environmental and educational organizations have benefited from her involvement. Ms. Longley received her BA in English. As an alumna, she has been an Alumni Executive Council member, Reunion Planning chair, telethon worker, career conference panelist, class reporter, class agent, career advisor, member of the President's Circle Membership Committee and a member of the Campaign Steering Committee. She is the recipient of an Alumni Citation (1968). Ms. Longley was elected Alumni Trustee in 1969, Term Trustee in 1977, and named Trustee Emerita in May 1996.
