Kate DePuy Clyde ’03 was a two-time All-America performer in the long jump for the women’s track and field team. Also a standout in the sprints, Kate qualified for the NCAA Championships in the long jump in each of her eight seasons at St. Lawrence, capping her career with a fourth-place finish at the indoor championships and a seventh-place showing outdoors as a senior.
Kate still holds two program records; she set the indoor long jump record with a leap of 5.87 meters as a senior, and she was also a member of the Saints’ record-setting 4x100 relay (48.93 seconds) in the outdoor season that year.
After graduation, Kate married her high school sweetheart, Scott Clyde, and she volunteered with the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, worked as a personal trainer and took care of her two daughters, Evelyn and Samantha. After Scott retired from his military career, the Clyde family moved to Rochester, where Kate is an associate director for advancement at the University of Rochester working in major gift fundraising for the School of Arts and Sciences.
