A three sport standout throughout his entire athletic career at St. Lawrence, “Jack” Flanigan joins his brother Bill ’34 as the first brothers to be inducted into the St. Lawrence Athletic Hall of Fame.
Jack’s pass reception in the 1938 Clarkson football game stood as the only score in a 7-0 St. Lawrence win. A four year regular in all three sports, he was a consistent double figure scorer in basketball, helping the team to an 11-5 record as a senior, and a solid pitcher in baseball.
Following graduation and four years of combat aviation with the U.S. Navy, he became a teacher and coach in the Carthage School system. He retired as high school principal in 1976.
