A three sport standout at St. Lawrence, Howard Shoen was captain of the football team and a leader in the L Club during his senior year.
A Canton native, he went on to teach, coach and was principal in the public schools in Nassua County where he was also active in community service organizations.
He moved to Torrance, CA where as a coach and administrator until his retirement in 1975. He was also a noted official in the ECAC for many years.
He was captain of the 5-2 1931 football team which won five straight after losses to Syracuse and Colgate to open the year.
He continued to serve St. Lawrence after graduation as an active member of the Alumni Council.
