A two-time All ECAC player, All America and captain of the 1988 national runner-up men’s hockey team, Hank Lammens also played for the Canadian National Team, professional ice hockey, sailed in the Olympics and is a world-class sailor with a number of championships to his credit.
He played in 131 games for the Saints, finishing his career with 13 goals and 42 assists for 55 points. His teams made NCAA appearances in his junior and senior years and won 86 games in his four seasons, including a program record 29 in 1987-88. He anchored a defense which was among the top five in the league in both 1986-87 and 1988 and contributed to an offense which led all ECAC teams in both seasons. He earned second team All ECAC honors in both his junior and senior seasons.
Professionally he played 211 games in the American Hockey League, 27 games with the Ottawa Senators. He was captain of the 1993 Canadian National Team. In Sailing, he is a two-time Finn Class World Champion in 1990 and 1991, sailed in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona and is a 15 time national champion in the 420, Laser, Finn, 5.5 and Etchells classes. He is also a three-time North American Champion in Finn and Etchells. He was named to the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 1993 and was Ontario Athlete of the Year in 1990. He was Sail Canada Athlete of the Year three times.
Hank now works for UBS Investment Bank in New York and he and his wife Hillary ’87 are the parents of two children, Greer and Jake.
