Ed Szott was one of the most dominating offensive lineman of his era, earning First-Team All-America honors in 1982 with the leading vote total among offensive linemen.
Szott helped open holes for Keith Henry ’84, who rushed for a school record 1,342 yards, and protected quarterback Mark Ferrante ’83, who broke school records for passing yards (2,042), completions (156) and total offense (2,358). The 1982 team advance to the semifinal round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship and posted a school-record 10 wins to start the season. He served as a captain of the 1983 team, which finished 5-3-1.
Szott now works in business development for Binsky & Snyder Mechanical Contractors and lives in Wayne, N.J., with his wife Diane, and has a daughter, Shelby, and twin sons, Ryne and Jackson.
