The student member of the Women’s Board of Athletic Control and the winner of a scarlet blazer as the outstanding woman senior athlete, Dorothy Loucks Voorhees was one of the outstanding woman athletes of the 1930’s.
A National champion in foul shooting in a National Amateur Athletic Union Event in 1930, she also led the St. Lawrence foul shooting team to a national title in a field representing 46 states and eight foreign countries. Also a member of the field hockey and tennis teams during her collegiate career, she stood out in competitive basketball as well, averaging in double figures for the varsity women’s basketball team.
A retired physical education teacher, she was a member of Kalon, the senior women’s honorary, and vice president of the senior class.
