Recruited as a basketball player at the end of his high school career, Dave Jennings became one of St. Lawrence’s most famous football players, earning All Pro honors five times in his National Football League career.
Dave played three years of varsity basketball at SLU and was a steady contributor, but made his big mark on the football field where he emerged as the conference’s top punter. He earned free agent tryouts following graduation and landed the punting job with the New York Giants, beginning a 14-year career with both New York teams, the Giants and the Jets. He held several NFL punting records and was a four-time Pro Bowl selection.
Following his retirement as a player, he became a broadcaster and has been a spokesman for a number of public service programs.
