Claude Richer

One of the outstanding collegiate and North American cross country skiers of the 1950’s, Claude Richer was a two time member of the Canadian Olympic team and the 1951 winner of the Julien Trophy given to the outstanding French Canadian athlete.

He was the 1951 winner of the Canadian National Cross Country Championship, was twice second in the U.S. National championships and twice won the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association championships. He was the winner of the Ski Meister Trophy at the SLU Winter Carnival in 1954 and won the Dartmouth Carnival in both 1951 and 1954. He also served SLU as ski coach following graduation.

He is now president of Concrete Constructors Inc., a director of the Laconia Peoples Bank Trust, incorporator of the Lakes Region General Hospital and a trustee of the Science Center of New Hampshire.
