The Outstanding Female Athlete award winner for 1984, Brenda Mattar was a member of the Hall of Fame 1981 women's lacrosse team and is being recognized for her individual accomplishments in three St. Lawrence sports.

A three-year captain in soccer and ice hockey, she earned team Most Valuable Player Awards three times in ice hockey and as a senior in lacrosse. She was a two-time first-team All Star in ice hockey and scored the winning goal in the ECAC women's senior all star game at Harvard in 1984.

A Dean's List Student and a member of the Delta Lambda Iota Leadership honor society, Brenda played on ice hockey teams which won 46 games during her career and was consistently among the team scoring leaders. She had a 14-goal, 20-assist season as a junior and scored 32 points in her senior year. A strong two-way player in soccer as a midfielder, she helped soccer teams to 25 wins in her four seasons and was an excellent defender in lacrosse.

Now an attorney in Lockport, NY, Brenda was a 1992 Red Cross Disaster Relief volunteer in South Florida during Hurricane Andrew. She was the athletes village volunteer manager for the World University Games in Buffalo in 1993 and has served on the Board of Directors of the Women's Law Center, Inc. and Pride Buffalo, Inc..
