The USILA College Division Midfield of the Year and a first-team All America in 1979, Bill Simunek was also a record-setting end in football and was named the Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

A key player on the team which ousted Hobart from the NCAA College Division quarterfinals in lacrosse, Simunek was captain and Most Valuable Player on the 1979 team and was named to the North South All Star Game.

In football, he was an All East selection and set records for passes caught in a game with 13 against Rochester and in a season with 51 for the year. He also set yardage records for a game and a season.

He set the record for midfielder scoring in lacrosse with 91 goals and 48 assists for 129 points and had 35 goals and 29 assists as a senior.
