A dominating player at the net who helped establish St. Lawrence’s volleyball program and a two-year standout in lacrosse, Anna Ozols was one of the outstanding woman athletes in the mid-1980s.
Anna played four years of volleyball and earned All State honors as both a sophomore and senior. A team leader in both blocks and kills, she led the team to two of the best seasons in the sport’s history, 25-11 in 1982 and 22-12, finishing second in the conference and fourth in New York State in 1983. She earned all conference honors and was a member of the NYSWCAA All Tournament team as a senior.
Anna also played two years of lacrosse and was one of the team’s goal-scoring leaders. She scored 39 career goals and had 23 assists and was a key player as on the 1981 Regional Championship lacrosse team which was the first Saint team to go to a national tournament in women’s lacrosse.
Also a member of the Student Art Union while an undergraduate, Anna earned her Master’s of Fine Arts at Boston University and is a graphic designer.
