One of the outstanding woman athletes of the 1970s, Beth Rider Stone was a three year co-captain in basketball, played four years of field hockey and two years of varsity lacrosse after that team moved from club status in 1975 and was undefeated in its first two years of intercollegiate competition.

Beth was named both the 1977 Female Scholar Athlete and 1977 Female Senior Athlete of the Year. A magna cum laude graduate, a member of ODK and listed in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, Beth was lacrosse Coaches Award winner in 1976, a two-time winner of the basketball sportsmanship award and a co-captain of the 1976 field hockey team.

While director of physical education and wellness at the Nichols School, she earned Coach of the Year honors in girls’ lacrosse.
