One of the most prolific scorers in St. Lawrence basketball history, Al Jonsen twice scored 43 points in a game and was the University’s first All American in Basketball.

Following his graduation from St. Lawrence he served as an infantry officer in Vietnam and was twice decorated for bravery.

He is the second leading scorer in SLU basketball history with 1,454 points and holds the record for scoring average in a season at 29.8 points per game. He is among the all-time leaders in ten different categories and holds five different scoring and rebounding records.
